Meet

RAYONTE

 Rayonte Bell is a life-long resident of St. Joseph Charter Township. He’s a 2017 graduate of Countryside  Academy. He attended Southwestern Michigan College, and later transferred to Lake Michigan College where he’s currently finishing his degree in Engineering.

 

While in school, Rayonte has served as Vice President of the Council of Student Clubs and Organizations, President of the A.K.Ω. Bible Club, and Vice President/Co-Founder of the Black Student Union at SMC and LMC. Rayonte has also served in campus ministry and in ministry/worship at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Benton Harbor, under the leadership of Pastor James O. Childs.

 

Rayonte is currently a member of the S.H.A.R.P. Foundation (Society Harmonizing Against Racial Profiling) and the local chapter of the N.A.A.C.P. As a member of the Michigan Democratic Party, he was selected to the Black Youth Task Force of the MDP Black Caucus, where he helps structure legislation to be proposed and passed in the Michigan legislature.
